Companion Care

At TIHSS we understand the incredible effects that socialization and companionship can have on elderly mental health and well-being.
By spending time with our caregivers, your loved one not only has someone at the ready to help around the house or help prepare a meal, they also have a friend who offers social connection and a companion who can help them get back to doing the things that bring them joy.
Our caregivers are in regular communication with a client’s loved ones to share progress, answer questions, and simply check in by providing companion care. Our caregivers focus on activities that bring joy, provide mental stimulation and encourage physical and emotional wellbeing.
Personal Care
For seniors who want to live independently at home, but find that daily activities and tasks present difficulty as they age, our experienced PCA care providers can assist with personal care services such as bathing, mobility assistance, grooming and more.
Personal care services can also include assistance with outings, social events, shopping trips, and other activities of interest to maintain engagement both physically and emotionally.
We are here to help clients who fear falling while bathing or have limitations that make grooming tasks difficult.
These tasks may include:
- Showering and bathing
- Shaving with an electric razor
- Getting dressed, including shoes and accessories (belt, watch, jewelry, etc.)
- Styling and brushing hair
- Brushing teeth or dentures
Senior Transportation
Access to transportation not only means that seniors can obtain the products and services that they need, but offers a sense of freedom and helps maintain a connection with the local community, family, friends and other loved ones. While the home is always where a person feels most comfortable, it is essential to travel outside of the home, if only on occasion, to maintain a properly balanced sense of mental and emotional wellbeing.
TIHSS' transportation services provides rides for seniors in our care that allows them to go wherever they want and not worry about the safety issues of traveling alone, getting lost, or needing to contact friends and family every time they wish to go somewhere. If seniors wish to visit friends, attend social events or window shop at the mall with a companion, we will be there to assist.
Interactive Care Giving
Interactive Caregiving contributes to longer, healthier, more purposeful lives for seniors.
An Interactive Caregiving plan is created for each senior client based on his or her personality, unique interests, health, and abilities. This plan will include a variety of activities such as
- working together on household chores.
- preparing a meal.
- discussing current events or personal interests.
- walks in the neighborhood.
- reminiscing while viewing photo albums.
- working on hobbies, puzzles or crafts.
- going shopping or to church.
- visiting a local senior center.
- dancing to music.
